What Is An Apple Cider Mimosa?
An apple cider mimosa is a fancy twist on the classic mimosa. You know, the one with orange juice and Champagne. Instead of orange juice, you use apple cider and Prosecco for this mimosa. It’s perfect for a brunch or any special occasion.
What Ingredients Are In An Apple Cider Mimosa
Apple cider mimosas are so simple to make. All you need are two ingredients (four if you want to garnish the glasses).
- Apple Cider – The mimosa recipe has apple cider as the main flavor. I just love how apple cider tastes. I recently tried an apple cider mimosa while I was on vacation and it was so good! I knew right away that I had to make it a part of my life.
- Prosecco – I chose Prosecco mainly for the price point; Prosecco is the more budget-friendly. They are both bubbly, but they have their differences. Champagne only comes from the Champagne region in France, and Prosecco hails from Italy. Personally, I think Prosecco has a more fruity flavor, which goes well with the apple cider.
- Brown Sugar (optional) – So, here is an optional ingredient – brown sugar. I think it’s the perfect match for the flavor of apple cider. We don’t mix it in, you just put it around the rim.
- Apple (optional) – You can cut a thin slice of an apple and use it as a garnish. I used a Gala apple, but you can use any firm apple you like.
How To Make An Apple Cider Mimosa?
This mimosa recipe is crazy easy. Popping the cork is the hardest part.
- First, you will need a couple of flute glasses.
- Next up, if you’re using brown sugar, get two small bowls that are big enough to dip the rim in. Take some brown sugar and put it in one of the bowls and water in the other. Dip the rim in the water first, then dip it in the brown sugar.
- Pour three ounces of the apple cider into each glass, careful not to get any on the rim.
- Now, pour in three ounces of Prosecco in each glass. Make sure not to spill any on the rim.
- Garnish with apple slices if desired.
- Enjoy!
