- Remove from heat and gently stir in the Rice Krispies.
- After 2 minutes, gently add the M&Ms and stir gently to incorporate.

Tips On Making Christmas Rice Krispie Treats
- Place a sheet of parchment paper in your baking dish so the treats can be removed easier and cut into squares.
- Be sure not to overcook the marshmallows. As soon as there are no lumps, remove be the pot from the heat.
- Let the Rice Krispie mixture cool for approximately 2 minutes, stirring occasionally before stirring in the M&Ms, preventing them from melting into a chocolatey mess.
- Use another sheet of parchment paper to gently press the Rice Krispie mixture into the pan. This will keep it from sticking to your hands.
Variations
- For microwave preparation, add the butter and marshmallows to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments, stirring each time. Pour the mixture over the Rice Krispies and follow the instructions from there.
