Slow Cooker Dr Pepper Pulled Pork

Description

Slow cooker Dr Pepper pulled pork is an easy recipe that can be placed in the Crockpot in the morning and will be ready for dinner. This tender, fall-apart pulled pork can be served on a sandwich, as a loaded pulled pork baked potato, or with pulled pork potato skins.


Ingredients

  • 1 pork roast (approximately 4 pounds)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 12 ounces Dr Pepper
  • 3/4 cup BBQ of choice

Instructions

  1. Trim the pork butt (or shoulder) of excess fat.
  2. Place roast in the slow cooker and sprinkle with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika,
  3. Pour the can of Dr Pepper over the roast.
  4. Cook on low for 8-9 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
  5. Remove the meat from the slow cooker and reserve 1 cup of juices.
  6. Shred the pork
  7. Place shredded pork back in the slow cooker and stir well to coat with remaining juices. Stir in BBQ sauce.
  8. Enjoy!

Notes

Pork Butt, Boston Butt, Picnic Roast, Pork Shoulder can all be used in this recipe.
